Rema, the Nigerian artist who has convinced the entire world to rediscover afrobeat rhythms, completes the lineup announced for Electric Castle 2024. Alongside Massive Attack, Bring Me The Horizon, Queens of The Stone Age, Chase and Status, Sean Paul, and Paolo Nutini, Rema will be present on the main stage of the festival from July 17 to 21.

With 57 consecutive weeks in the Billboard Hot 100, an absolute record for one of the most important charts in the music industry, “Calm Down” was an essential hit on dance floors in 2023. Thus, Rema became the first African artist to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify, and the song has prompted the entire world to discover a complex artist and a new creative direction in afrobeat music. His debut album Rave & Roses Ultra bears the stamp of Nigerian music, but is filled with trap, electro, and even jazz influences, a style that Rema defines as afrorave and which has convinced personalities like Barack Obama to recommend his tracks.

The show scheduled for Electric Castle will include all of the artist’s hits, from “Dumebi” to “Iron Man” and “Soundgasm.” However, Rema increasingly mentions new projects with major names from American rap, which are expected to materialize in the near future. With a bit of luck, fans in Romania will have the chance to hear them live at the festival.

Electric Castle also confirms Ricardo Villalobos, one of the most influential producers in the minimal-techno scene. In the forefront of electronic music for over 20 years, Villalobos is inventive, extravagant, not very interested in success, but obsessed with discovering new approaches in music. The DJ, who has introduced a surprising level of subtlety into the electro style, will be present at the Dance Garden Stage, along with the other 35 artists proposed in the Sunrise Takeover.

April 24th this year is the last day when Electric Castle tickets can still be purchased at the price of 139 Euro (plus taxes). The complete list of artists at Electric Castle 2024, all available types of passes, and accommodation options in the festival camping area can be found on www.electriccastle.ro.
