One of the founding members of electro-goth band Depeche Mode, synth player Andy Fletcher will bring his DJ set to Bucharest in on January 29 in 2011. Although being part of Depeche Mode is quite a full-time job, Fletcher (or “Fletch” as fans refer to him) has recorded a solo cover album together with Alan Wilder and Martin Gore, two other Depeche Mode founding members, has set up a record label, Toast Hawaii, and has held DJ sets in locations across the world.

The style the Fletch may be best described as “bedroom DJ” and includes new wave mixes, electro tracks as well as Depeche Mode and Mute Records hits. Fletcher came to Romania in 2006 together with Depeche Mode, as part of Touring the Angel Tour.

The concert on January 29 will be held at The Ark Underground, on Uranus Str. 150, the former Calea Rahovei 196A. Tickets cost RON 50. The concert is organized by The Ark and supported by Emagic.

UPDATE: Prior to his January 29 concert at The Ark, in Bucharest, Andy Fletcher stated that he considers the Romanian audience to be very close to him. “The Romanian audience is perfect”, Fletcher said, adding that he felt very sorry that the 2009 Depeche Mode concert had to be canceled in Romania.

To make it up to fans,  Fletcher, one of the band’s founding members added that Bucharest will be one of the first locations from their future tour, since they are already working on a new album. Some of the remixes that Fletcher will be performing on January 29 in Bucharest will be included on the new Depeche Mode album.
