The White Night of the Museums, organized through May 14-15 this year, was a true success, according to The National Association of Museums across Romania. With a support of a warm, summer-like evening, all throughout the country, museums registered records of visitors.
In Bucharest, the highest number of visitors seems to have been recorded by the National History Museum, where 20,000 passed through the gates of the museum, while the Labyrinth Museum, held in the George Enescu Square and organized by the Grigore Antipa Natural History Museum and the Romanian Peasant Museum attracted 16,208 people and the National Museum of Art of Romania (in picture) registered an attendance of no less than 15,000 to its events.
Even the official site of the event, www.noapteamuzeelor.ro, was assaulted with visitors, which lead to its collapse for two hours on May 14. The site had this year, for the first time, an English version. The total number of unique online visitors peaked to 50,000 for this edition of the event, compared to the 28,000 registered last year.
