Deco Days, an event dedicated to interior design, organized by Mendola Fabrics, the largest brand of curtains and draperies in Romania, will take place this year between 7 and 10 September in the foyer of the Polyvalent Hall in Cluj-Napoca. With a total investment of more than 100.000 euro, the organizers are counting on an audience of more than 3.500 people for the 8th edition, an increase of 20% compared to last year, 300 designers and 40 exhibiting businesses.

Conceived as an interior design accelerator, the event connects designers and architects with business, focusing on a complex, multi-sensory experience for participants. Last year, Deco Days attracted 3000 visitors, both individuals who love interior design and businesses in the field or related, who were exposed to 29 intensive hours of the event in a 2500 sqm space with 35 booths and exhibition spaces, 2 stages dedicated to conferences and workshops in the field, 11 special guests and the creations of 8 object designers gathered in a dedicated area.

Mendola Fabrics, the fabric business for curtains and drapes from Cluj, started Deco Days 7 years ago as an event dedicated exclusively to its business partners. Since 2021, Deco Days has turned into an “interior design accelerator”, a unique event in Romania that brings interior design businesses, designers and design lovers together.

This year, Deco Days will host a new round of design concepts, brand activities, complex experiential spaces, workshops and panel discussions with established guests.

Deco Days is a dynamic organism that is growing naturally, year after year. So for this autumn’s edition, dedicated equally to the final public and to businesses, we have prepared an exhibition space that exceeds 2500 square meters, where 40 brands from fields such as lighting fixtures, furniture, flooring, or decoration will interact with the interior design community and public. Another anticipated highlight is our interior design concept competition, with 300 designers entered. It is the traditional invitation to interior designers and architects to come up with a design concept to be implemented during Deco Days 2023,” says Ioan Pintea, Deputy Director Mendola Fabrics.

According to him, another component of this year’s Deco Days edition is the space dedicated to creators of objects for interior design, which will bring together the creations of Romanian object designers such as Arcasha Design, Artea or Cicaro Design Studio.

As for the presentations and workshops that will address the latest trends and best practices in interior design, they will be held this year by guests such as Camilla Bellini (interior and product designer & design blogger from Italy) , Ileana Răducanu (OhDa! Design), Cosmin Todor (Architect & Object Designer), Sebastian Mândroiu (Architect), Victor Grosu (Business & Interior Designer), Anda Zota (Igloo Editor-in-Chief), Paul Tătar (3D Interior Designer) and with the involvement of Dizainar, Intento Studio, Igloo, UAD, Sinaps Media and will address topics such as: business know-how in interior design, anti-crisis design, the role of artificial intelligence in interior design, online promotion in the field or 3D renders.

According to the organizers, the businesses that will participate as exhibitors at Deco Days 2023, brands such as Mendola Fabrics, Nobila Casa, Narativo, Global Design, Salice, Trend Furniture, Enipau, represent local businesses.

From the products to be discovered during the event, the public will be able to interact with a wide selection of furniture pieces.

Among the brands that have announced their presence with stands at Deco Days 2023 are Cressent (distributor of decorative surfaces, accessories and hardware), Maxdeco (distributors of Viefe and Cebi brands of furniture handles, doors and pegs), Modulo (decorative stone and exposed brick), Unique by Klausen (lighting fixtures), Sonerg (carpeting and floor decoration), Stadt Construct (professional flooring and decorative walls), Imarcom (distributor of tiles and earthenware), Clusterul Mobilier Transilvan (an associative structure representing the interests of the furniture industry since 2012), Globan Design (efficient solutions for furnishing private, residential, public institutions and commercial spaces) or Nobila Casa ( on-trend decorative items for the living, dining, bedroom and kitchen areas).
