Tomorrow’s program of the George Enescu music festival features a representation of the Banatul Philarmonic Orchestra from Timisoara. The philharmonic was established in 1947, and plays a varied repertoire, from baroque to contemporary music. Starting with 1969, the Banatul Philarmonic is organizing the Musical Timisoara international festival, and since 1981 the George Enescu musical days. Besides the concerts it holds in its traditional Timisoara venue, the orchestra deliveres numerous events in unconventional settings such as the Romanesti cave, in front of the Timisoara Metropolitan Cathedral, on the Bega canal bank, on the Traian Vuia airport, and at a construction site belonging to the Municipal Roads Company.
