Duke Ellington orchestra lands in Bucharest for November 10 concert

The Duke Ellington orchestra will be back in Bucharest on November 10 for a two-hour pure jazz concert to take place at Sala Palatului in Bucharest. The 16 musicians who have undertaken the task of carrying on the legacy of Duke Ellington will be led by conductor and piano player Tommy James.

A prolific composer, Duke Ellington has created over 2,000 musical pieces, including the now famous “Take the A-Train” and “It Don’t mean a Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing)”. The repertoire for the Bucharest concert includes pieces such as: Take The A Train, Cotton Club Stomp, Black and Tan Fantasy, Lush Life, The Mooche, Harlem Airshaft, Satin Doll, The Minor Goes Mugging, Sophisticated Lady, Caravan, Two For One, In a Sentimental Mood, Johnny Come Lately, Jack The Bear, Mood Indigo.

The concert starts at 20.30. Access is allowed starting 19.30. Tickets, at prices of RON 100, 140 and 180 can be bought in the Eventim network in the Germanos, Orange and Vodafone stores, the Carturesti and Humanitas bookstores and on eventim.ro
