The National Chamber Choir Madrigal of Romania will hold its annual Christmas concert at the Roman-Catholic Cathedral Sfantul Iosif (Saint Joseph) in the capital city. The concert will take place on December 21, starting at 19.30, and will include both local traditional Christmas songs, as well as international.
The National Chamber Choir Madrigal of Romania is one of the best known choral ensembles, locally and internationally. The Madrigal choir was founded on the 11th of April 1963, as a component of the Ciprian Porumbescu Music Conservatory (now National University of Music). One of the most notable forms of international acclaim is the bestowal of the choir with the Good of the Universal Patrimony of UNESCO and the nomination of its director as UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador in 1992.
Attendance to the Christmas concert on December 21 is free of charge, yet limited by the number of available seats. Catedrala Sfantul Iosif is located on General Berthelot Street, no 19. The concert is organized by Medieval Praxis with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
