The Bucharest City Hall is organizing this weekend the Bucharest Days, a series of events celebrating the capital city’s 552 documented anniversary. The city’s historic center, the Herastrau park, and the Constitutiei square are the main areas where open-air, free events will be organized.
Bucharest’s old center will be animated with live music, mime shows, street theater and a festival dedicated to the touristic promotion of Bucharest. Called Bucharest – the Live Metropolis, the festival will take place from Friday until Sunday evening. The first Gala Folk for You will take place Saturday and Sunday on Strada Franceza in the historical center of Bucharest. Bucharest’s cultural projects center ArCuB will organize on Saturday a concert combining classical and pop music. Highlights of the concerts are the National Radio Orchestra, the Radio Big Band, soprano Valentina Nafornita, tenor Marius Manea, Directia 5 band, and singers Monica Anghel, Cornel Ilie and Lora. A special guest of the concert is Bogdan Ota, the young Romanian piano player who won the Norske talent show in Norway.
