Already a tradition on the Romanian sports scene, the 15th edition of BCR Open tennis competition will take place between September 18 and 26, at Arenele BNR venue.
With prizes reaching a total EUR 370,000, BCR Open Romania is the final grand tennis tournament on a cinder field of the season, as well as the first ATP contest taking place after US Open and Davis Cup.
The main favorite of this year’s edition is the Spaniard Albert Montanes, number 23 in the ATP rankings and last year’s champion. German Florian Mayer, Argentinian Ignacio Chela and Romania’s own Victor Hanescu are also on the favorites’ list.
The first two days of BCR Open will be dedicated to qualifications. Ticket fees will range between RON 10 and RON 50, depending on the day of choice. From Monday to Wednesday, children, pupils, students and pensioners will have free access. More information is available on the tournament’s website.
