On Equal Opportunities Day, FREE NOW, the European Mobility Super App offering taxi and ridesharing services in Romania, supports both diversity and inclusion, as well as safe mobility for all passengers, regardless of gender. In addition, the company announces that Stella Penso has been appointed FREE NOW’s new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) from 1 April 2022, bringing the company closer to meeting its goal to improve the proportion of women in all leadership roles to 43% by 2023.

With the appointment of Stella Penso, the share of women in leadership roles at FREE NOW has increased significantly over the past year, with 1 out of 3 management roles now held by a woman. With extensive experience, Stella Penso will play an important role in maintaining FREE NOW as a Mobility Super-App, in the development process of the platform, and also in ensuring a simple and seamless experience for FREE NOW drivers and customers. It is also a step towards achieving FREE NOW’s targets regarding the percentage of women in leadership positions.

Across Europe, FREE NOW is one of the market leaders in mobility services, with a multicultural team of 74 nationalities.

“Diversity is at the heart of our company’s DNA with employees from 74 nationalities. We believe that a diverse and inclusive company culture strengthens our overall performance, our business and our team spirit. We want to be an employer where the most diverse talents can find a place to create a platform that makes sustainable urban mobility accessible for everyone”, says Marlot van der Wal, Chief People Officer of FREE NOW.

“Our organizational culture is based on values such as supporting inclusion and diversity. This is why Equal Opportunities Day is a great occasion for us to promote and bring awareness on this topic, especially since achieving gender balance within our team is so important. This goal aligns with our strategy to be a platform that makes urban mobility sustainable and accessible for everyone, regardless of gender or nationality”, adds Daria Marinescu, Head of Marketing FREE NOW Romania.
