Business Review talked with Mihaela Nita, Public Affairs Director at Coca-Cola Romania, for an exclusive interview featured in the main cover story of Business Review Magazine’s March 2024 edition titled Outstanding Women in Business. Mihaela shares her impactful contributions to Coca-Cola, showcasing her expertise in public affairs and strategic communication. As a key player in one of the world’s leading beverage companies, she discusses the intricacies of managing public perceptions and fostering positive relationships.
There are great projects that I have coordinated as Public Affairs Director for Coca-Cola Romania, spanning all PAC activity types. But the closest to my heart are those done in Sustainability area, together with people, for the benefit of people.
I love seeing the lasting results of the educational healthy lifestyle programs developed in schools or the programs dedicated to improvement of the waste management system in Romania or the latest sustainability educational program dedicated to SMEs. I admit I have a soft spot for projects related to nature – the ecological restoration done on Danube shore, at Garla Mare, which now became a smaller Delta – always a pleasure to visit, or the restoration of Sticlariei Park here in Bucharest or the broader river clean-up campaign of Dorna.
The qualities that make everybody, not only women, successful in business, are – in my opinion – professionalism, tenacity and seriousness. Above all, the key is staying true to your values, in all senses. It’s important to understand your value and to respect yourself and the ones you work with, but also to guide your work according to your principles.
I like to think that the best is yet to come! I proudly remember that I was part of the team that developed the legislation in the antitrust field during my early professional career. Then, moving into the private sector, I have been proud of contributing with my actions to the reputation building of the companies working for. I like to think that every action, some of them first of their kind for Romania, represents a brick to this construction, but equally a brick to my personal development. I love saying that I am the sum of my professional experience – a rounded expert in my area of expertise!
