Premium Aerotec, part of the European Aeronautic Defense and Space company (EADS), is close to signing a EUR 100 million contract with the Romanian authorities. The money will be invested in an Airbus aircraft components factory, on the IAR Ghimbav platform in Brasov.

According to Brasov mayor George Scripcaru, the Premium Aerotec investment will be a greenfield one, which will fall under the offset law and benefit from state aid of approximately EUR 40 million. The offset law governs strategic contracts and obliges a seller of strategic goods to reinvest 80 percent of the sums obtained from the deal in Romania.

“We will probably announce that the contract has been signed in early February,” said Claudiu Stafie, state secretary at the Ministry of Economy.
