E-mail provider and search engine Yahoo! is expanding its customer service operations to include Romanian-language services. The firm will be hiring multilingual service center workers to cover Arabic, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Polish, Romanian and Russian.
The new languages will be handled at a service center in Cairo operated by IBM Corp. Romanian services will be provided after the launch of call centers dealing in Arabic, French, German, Italian and Spanish, concomitantly with Turkish, Polish and Russian. The call centers will require a significant number of employees in Egypt, speakers of several foreign languages.
Initially providing only 80 local jobs, the center will quickly expand in the following months by filling 250-300 positions, after which organic growth is expected, depending on demand.
