Danish footwear retailer ECCO will open two new store sin Bucharest this week, Bucuresti Mall and Plaza Romania, reaching a national network of 18 units. ECCO is also planning on two new openings in 2014.
After the two new units opened this week, ECCO will have 8 stores in Bucharest, an online store and several other units in Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Iasi and Timisoara.
The new Bucharest units will be opened on September 4 in Bucuresti Mall and September 5 in Plaza Romania.
“Plans for the next years include opening two new stores per year. We set aside a EUR 300,000 investment budget for 2014 to finance two new stores and refurbish two others under a new concept”, according to Victor Tighinean, managing director ECCO Romania.
Ecco Shoes Romania posted a turnover of RON 22.6 million (EUR 5 million) last year, 8.5 percent higher year on year and a RON 150,000 profit, down 45 percent.
