Starting this fall, telecom equipment manufacturer Ericsson Romania will be expanding with an additional 4,000 square meters its office space in West Gate, one of the two Bucharest office projects owned by Genesis Development, which is controlled by Romanian businessman Liviu Tudor.

The space leased by Ericsson in the building  will thus increase to 16,000 sqm. The lease was prolonged until 2019.

Ericsson Romania relocated its activity in the West Gate office compound in 2008, when it rented 4,000 square meters. Gradually, the company expanded to three of the five buildings of the business park. With this future expansion, Ericsson will consolidate its offices in two of the West Gate buildings, where it will be covering six floors in total.

Liviu Tudor, portret “The relation between tenant- owner lasts for at least five years on the office space market. During this time, the companies’ business changes, which is why, we must prove flexible owners in order to cater to all needs. The collaboration with Ericsson is one of the best examples: we are monitoring both the posibility to expand the occupied space, as well as the consolidation of operations for more efficiency,” said Liviu Tudor (pictured left), president of Genesis Development.

With this expansion, the West Gate occupancy degree has increased to 96 percent.

Recently, other significant expansions included that of Société Générale, from 2,500 to 5,000 sqm, and BPO provider WNS, from 1,500 to 4,000 sqm.

Other companies that have taken up space in West Gate include Dacia Renault, Siemens, Accenture, PPD (Pharmaceutical Product Development), Panasonic, Citibank, Alpha Bank, Carestream Health and Medicover.

West Gate is located in Militari neighborhood, close to Preciziei subway station. The business park spans on a total GLA (gross leasable area) of 75,000 square meters, shared among five office buildings.
