The RnB, pop, soul and hip-hop singer originating from Canada, Melanie Fiona, will hold a concert in Bucharest, on December 2. Fiona, known to the Romanian audience for the “Give It to Me Right” (in video) hit single, among others, has graduated from a financial college and is of Guyanese, Indian and Portuguese origins.
Fiona considers Bob Marley, Sade and Patsy Cline as influences, while at the basis of her most recent album lies inspiration from classic soul artists, as Sam Cooke, Nat King Cole and Gladys Knight, as well as modern music.
“My mother, who shares my love for music, played everything from The Ronettes to Whitney Houston around the house as I grew up. My father would let me sit on the stage while he rehearsed with his band as a guitarist”, declares the singer on her MySpace page.
The artist’s Bucharest concert will be held at Club Fratelli, on Str. Glodeni. A ticket fee for Fiona’s concert is of RON 200 and may be purchased online on eventim.ro.
