The Government will try to introduce in 2015 a differentiated tax quota, of 8, 12 and 16 percent, if the budget will allow for it, Victor Ponta commented on Thursday, quoted by capital.ro.

“We don’t want to change the fiscal system in any way this year, no tax will go past 16 percent”, Ponta said, adding that, unfortunately, the 8 and 12 percent tax rates cannot be introduced in 2014 for small income.

“But if we can do it in 2015, we will”, Ponta added.

Earlier in the day, the prime-minister reassured the business community that measures such as cutting back social insurance contributions (CAS) and eliminating the tax on reinvested profits are still on the Government’s agenda, even if they were “PNL” initiatives, they don’t belong solely to PNL.

“These two are our prioritites in April when we negotiate again with the International Monetary Fund and the European Commission. It’s not about being PNL ideas, they are good ideas, but it is important to create the conditions to make them a reality”, Ponta explained
