Due to a flaw in the informatics system (The Unique Integrated Informatics System / Sistemul Informatic Unic Integrat – SIUI), all the state health insurance agencies across Romania will be closed for public access until Monday, January 17, reports news wire Mediafax.

The decision was taken by the president of the National Health Insurance Company, Lucian Duta, who stated that the system fail has been reported to the parent company in the United States. A solution has been reportedly received, which will be tested.

Duta has also stated that an estimate of 600 people should pay, on a daily basis, their health contributions. “In spite of the alternatives these people have at CEC Bank or by bank transfer, they refuse to do so”, Duta declared, adding that these alternative solutions should also be considered even when the system re-becomes fully functional.
