A+E Networks’ Crime & Investigation (C&I) Network has launched in Romania with pay-TV provider UPC and was included in UPC’s Maxim HD TV subscription package.
C&I presents crime labs, police archives and the justice system, providing viewers with a behind-the-scenes look at criminal investigations. The channel also broadcasts successful TV series such as Gangs of Britain (in picture), The First 48, and Psychic Detectives.
The channel is available in more than 50 million households in over 100 territories and 17 languages. The launch of CI in Romania comes soon after the channel’s debut in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
In June, telecom operator Orange Romania launched of its satellite TV service in Romania. Just a couple of weeks earlier, French company Eutelsat had also set up a satellite TV service, in collaboration with Oradea-based operator Freesat. These new entries have the potential to disrupt the TV market, so far dominated by providers such as RCS&RDS, Romtelecom and UPC. More information regarding TV market, here.
