The commercial division of publishing group Sanoma, Sanoma Tade, will sell its local press distribution operation and the R-Kiosk kiosks to Dan Vasile, the general manager of Rautakirja Romania and R-Kiosk Romania, Mediafax reports. Sanoma is expected to register EUR 8 million restructuring costs out of this transaction with effects on the group’s financial results in the second trimester of the year, a press release of the publisher shows. Rautakirja Romania, part of Sanoma group, has a 25 percent market share on the press distribution market, according to company information.
The R-Kiosk network in Romania registered last year net sales of EUR 5 million. The company has 20 units, located mainly in Bucharest and Sibiu, and employs 120 people. The press distribution operations have generated in 2010 net sales of EUR 18 million. The network also sells additional products such as cigarettes, beverages and foods.
