Drug wholesaler Tamisa Trading expects sales of roughly RON 48 million (approx. EUR 1.2 million) for 2011, up 30 percent against the previous year.
Dan Boboescu, the company’s CEO and a shareholder in the firm, said that given the market’s uncertainties and volatility the numbers are approximations: “We nevertheless believe that by the year’s end it will turn out that we erred on the conservative side and that these estimations will have been exceeded.”
The company’s top executive added that the results of the first months in the year were good, in line with the management’s expectations. The bigger part of the predicted annual growth would however be achieved during the second half of the year and especially during its last quarter.
The reason behind this evolution and the main engine for growth is the diversification of the business in a related activity, yet new for Tamisa Trading and a lot closer and better oriented towards the final consumer.
Boboescu also said that the new business line would be launched within the next several weeks and that it would have a major contribution to Tamisa Trading’s sales in the fourth quarter, seen as roughly double as compared to those in the similar period of 2010.
