The Ministry of Finance (MFP) said it will pursue an administrative reform program in order to cut red tape, improve the IT infrastructure and support Romania’s presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2019.
The MFP has proposed the creation of a new position of deputy general secretary considering that the authorities will create the National Center for Financial Information (CNIF). This is an IT structure that will unify all the data bases regarding fiscal information.
The Ministry said that it will create 14 new positions with contracts that run through to August 31 2019 to support Romania’s presidency of the EU Council. The MFP has also updated the organizational chart for the Ministry and the tax administration agency ANAF.
Starting January 1 2019, Romania will manage the dialogue with other EU institutions and will handle the European agenda at sectorial level for the Council. During the presidency, the country will also organize informal meetings of EU decision makers.
