IKEA has announced that its new store from Theodor Pallady area will be built by Bog’Art. The company expects its second store in Bucharest to open next year, following an investment of around EUR 80 million.
IKEA initiated a process of selection that comprised 250 companies and suppliers from the Romanian constructions market.
The new store will have a surface of over 37,000 sqm and will create 300 jobs.
Vladislav Lalic, property and expansion manager IKEA South-East Europe, said: “This week we obtained the construction authorization for the establishment and field adjustment issued by the Mayor Office of District 3. We already obtained 24 approvals and notifications and we are waiting for the last two necessary notifications. After this, the documents for Construction Authorization of IKEA store will be submitted.”
IKEA currently operates a store in northern Bucharest, Baneasa area.
