The edition of this year of George Enescu Festival opens this Saturday and brings in Bucharest and in other seven cities from Romania over 3,000 of the most appreciated foreign and Romanian artists to over 80 events. This edition will have as main theme “the light”, which through the manner it falls or is projected, allows the public to discover new perspectives and find new senses. The festival opens in Bucharest with London Philahrmonic Orchestra, Choir of the George Enescu Philharmonic and the Romanian Radio Children’s Choir from 7 PM – 10:30 PM at Sala Palatului. The conductor is Vladiumir Jurowski, the conductor of the choir is Ion Iosif Prunner and the conductor of the Children’s Choir is Voicu Popescu. The programme is Enescu – “Oedipe“.
