Cinema City is inaugurating its first multiplex in Braila, which represents its tenth national investment, since 2007. The 5 million investment, located in Promenada Mall, consists in a 10-cinema multiplex, with a capacity of 1724 seats.
With the opening of Cinema City Braila, the cinema operator reaches 98 operated halls on the local market and offers a total of 16,300 seats, consolidating its position as market leader, both from the perspective of the number of operated multi-screen cinema halls, as well as general hall number, as company officials declare.
In 2011, Cinema City aims to extend its network towards Targu Mures and Constanta. Currently, Cinema City cinemas are found in Bucharest, Pitesti, Iasi, Timisoara, Cluj, Bacau and Baia Mare. Cinema City Romania is expected to shortly become the second ranking network in size after Poland in the global company chain.
Cinema City has 10 multiplex cinemas in Romania, and a total of 98 screens, among which the only Samsung IMAX.
UPDATE: New Age Media, the media direction of Cinema City Group, has announced that through this portfolio extension, New Age Media is now present in 98 cinema halls. The cinemas whose advertising is managed by the company reached a total audience of 3.09 milion viewers in 2010, a 100 percent increase against 2009.
