Romania will be represented by 104 athletes in the Rio Olympics 2016, says COSR

104 athletes were qualified to represent Romania at the Rio Olympic Games, held between August 5-21, after the results obtained by athletes in the 4×400 m relay race and by swimmer Ana Iulia Dascal, announced The Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee (COSR) on Friday.

After the good performance at the European Championships (number 15 in the IAAF ranking) , the female relay race team for 4x400m  were selected to be part of the Romanian delegation at the 2016 Olympic Games. The Romanian Olympic team will consist of Sanda Belgyan, Anamaria Ionita, Andrea Miklos, Adelina Pastor, Bianca Razor and Florina Pierdevara.

In swimming, Ana Iulia Dascal was invited by the International Federation to participate in the Rio Olympics.

On Monday, the International Tennis Federation has finished the process of reallocating the spots in the doubles game, Andreea Mitu and Raluca Olaru obtaining the right to play during the 2016 Olympic Games in the feminine doubles tennis competition.
