The cardiovascular surgery and interventional cardiology hospital Monza has invested EUR 3 million in the best performing video-assisted minimally invasive surgery system, the robot da Vinci Xi. The investment comes a year after Monza Hospital became the first hospital to introduce robotic surgery into the private medical system.

In 2017, the hospital acquired another da Vinci surgical robot, with an average of 5 operations per month.

The da Vinci Xi robot is the most modern and performing computerized system that interposes between the surgeon and the patient. With the 3D and HD perspective, as well as the 540-degree rotation of the robot arms, it facilitates surgical maneuvers, giving increased visibility up to 10 times, clarity and millimeter accuracy to the medical act. For patients, surgical interventions through the da Vinci Xi robot mean a reduced amount of intra-operator lost blood, a shorter recovery time, a low risk of post-operative complications, reduced postoperative pain, a rapid resumption of regular activities and the possibility to intervene in very difficult cases.

“Robotic Surgery came as an alternative to traditional laparoscopic surgery, designed to overcome certain limitations of the laparoscopic surgery related to the depth and thorough dissection imposed by certain cases. The da Vinci Xi robot is all the more powerful and useful as it is put into the hands of the right people, highly experienced surgeons and solid international training. We are glad to have them together and to say that in Monza, the robots have the soul of the best surgeons and that, in this way, we have made another step forward in cutting-edge surgery and performance, “says Luca Militello, CEO Group Monza Romania.

Last week, Monza Group announced an EUR 50 million partnership with Enayati Group to develop Revera Medical City, the largest private medical project in Romania,
