Travelling to Austria for the Easter holiday

For those looking to spend their Easter holiday abroad, Austria offers tourists numerous options, according to the Austrian National Tourist Office. The cost of a three-day trip to Vienna this Easter starts at EUR 188 (transport not included) and go up to EUR 350 for those who want to travel by plane. A must while in Vienna are the Easter markets, especially the one held in front of the Schönbrunn palace.

With its over 100 ski resorts offering 5,200 km of ski slopes, the Tirol region is another popular destination for Romanian tourists. A 7-day ski trip starts around EUR 472, according to the same source.

Austria attracted last summer over 150,000 Romanian tourists most of which (123,922) went to Vienna. Salzburg attracted 7,377 Romanian tourists while another 5,691 tourist went to Granz. Other popular destinations were Linz (4,031), Zell am See (2,953), Villach (2,564), Kaprun (2,561), Innsbruck (2,464), Bad Hofgastein (2,274) and Wals-Siezenheim (2,179).
