Timisoara tops worldwide ranking on internet download speeds

Romanian city Timisoara has topped the Net Index worldwide ranking in internet download speeds.

According to the study, download speeds in Timisoara can reach 90.41 MB/second, being followed at a large distance by Vilnius with 52.09 MB/second and the Central District Hong Kong with speeds of 52.09 MB/second.

The other Romanian places included in the ranking after Timisoara are Bals with 50.16 MB/second, Adjud, with 49.68 MB/second, Husi, with 48.85 Mb/second and Navodari, with 46.73 MB/second.

Overall, Romania ranks on the 9th place in the download ranking, with an average of 32.39 Mbps. The results were obtained by analyzing test data between Jun 2 and Jul 1, 2013.

As far as upload speeds are concerned, the ranking includes a few Romanian cities such as Constanta on the 9th place, with 25.27 MB/second, Brasov on the 10th place with 25.09 MB/second, Bucharest on the 16th place with 21.99 MB/second, Timisoara on the 18th place with 21.65 MM/second and Iasi on the 19th place, with 21.25 MB/second.
