Romanian tennis player Simona Halep needed only 61 minutes to defeat Tita Torro Flor in the 3rd round match on Saturday at Roland Garros. Halep recovered eight break points in the second set and eventually won the  game6-3, 6-0.

The highest seed still standing, who has dropped only 11 games in three matches will face American Sloane Stephens (ranked World No. 15 by the Women’s Tennis Association) for a place in the quarterfinals. Stephens reached the fourth round at the French Open for the third year in a row by eliminating No. 22 Ekaterina Makarova of Russia 6-3, 6-4, writes knoxnews.com.

Earlier in the week, Halep defeated Briton Heather Watson on Thursday,  6-2, 6-4. Now that the top two seeds, Serena Williams and Li Na, have departed, she’s the player with the most legitimate claim to title favouritism (if you don’t count on Maria Sharapova), according to the event’s official website.

I want just to stay focused for every match, because here every match it’s very tough. It’s a tough tournament, and I have to play my best, to do everything on court match by match, and after, I will see how far I can go”, Halep said after her match against Watson.
