Romtelecom boosts TV and internet customer base but still loses some on voice

Telecom operator Romtelecom’s revenues in the second fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2013, amounted to EUR 148.7 million, having decreased by 4.9 percent compared to the previous quarter.

The company’s EBITDA decreased by 17.1 percent down to EUR 33.5 million, according to Mediafax newswire.

Romtelecom’s telephony customer base went down by 4.9 percent to 2.4 million, but the company gained more clients to the internet and television customer base.

Romtelecom had nearly 1.3 million clients for the TV services at the end of the second quarter, up 7.3 percent on the previous year.

Internet services saw a 4.8 percent growth in the customer base, which reached 1.2 million.
