Asus launches Fonepad in Romania, estimates sales of 8,000 units

Asus announced in Romania the official launch of the Asus Fonepad, a hybrid device that can be used both as a smartphone and a tablet.

In Romania, the 16 GB Fonepad version sells for a price of RON 1,100 (VAT included) and has been available in the stores of traditional and online retailers since the beginning of this month. “We estimate sales of 8,000 units during the life cycle of the device,” said Asus representatives.

The Fonepad is 3G compatible, runs on Android 4.1 and weighs 340 grams. It is equipped with an Intel Atom Z2420 processor and has a 7-inch display with a resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels.

The Fonepad version launched in Romania has an internal memory of 16GB and 1GB of RAM and has an SD card slot of up to 32 GB. Battery life is up to 9 hours.

In terms of features, the FonePad includes the Floating App, for managing applications easily, ASUS Story, which allows to create photo albums, ASUS Studio with picture editing tools, and the Audio wizard, which allows to customize the sound coming out of the speaker, among others.

Fonepad users receive free of charge 5GB of cloud storage space in the Asus Webstorage.
