American company Stratum Energy will become the third largest gas producer in Romania with an annual yield of 0.3 billion metric cubes after it will invest USD 150 million in the country next year, according to Romanian Minister for Energy Razvan Nicolescu, writes Hotnews.

Razvan Nicolescu is part of Romanian Prime Minister’s delegation visiting the US, which late last week met American oil companies’ representatives.

Stratum Energy Romania LLC discovered a conventional gas deposit in Moinesti, in Bacau county, two years ago. The value of the gas deposit could surpass USD 1.5 billion, and development works are estimated at USD 600 million.

Exploiting the deposit could start in 6 months, the company representatives estimate.
