According to Brent Valmar, the GM of Porsche Romania, the thinking behind the project is that each tree absorbs every year a similar quantity of carbon dioxide to that produced by a car. In total, 55,000 trees will be sold as part of the program which is supported by the Environment Ministry.

The first stage saw trees planted in Mitreni, Crivat and Plataresti villages in Calarasi county, in areas severely affected by deforestation.
