Jose Carreras to perform in Romania

Born in 1946, Carreras showed an early talent for singing and gave his first public performance when he was 8.
One of the most prominent tenors of his generation, he came to world attention as part of the trio he formed with Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti. They held a series of concerts from 1990 to 2003. Carreras' talent is especially acknowledged in Verdi and Puccini works. He is also the founder of the Jose Carreras International Leukemia Foundation, which he set up after beating the disease in 1988.
