French retailer Cora opened today a new hypermarket in Romania and the fourth in Bucharest.
The 9,000 sqm hypermarket is located on Alexandriei Road and is part of commercial center which also features 40 shops with a combined sales area of about 5,000 sqm, 980 parking lots and 4,000 sqm of green space. The whole project required a EUR 47 million investment and has a BREEAM certification for class A green buildings.
Cora Alexandriei is the second hypermarket the retailer opened this year in Romania after the one in Bacau which was inaugurated two weeks ago. Cora now runs a local network of 10 hypermarkets in Romania.
Last year Cora Romania reported a turnover of RON 1.37 billion (approximately EUR 312 million), a similar level to the one reported the previous year.
