The list of the festivals and concerts that will take place in Romania this year is not even by far complete, since promoters have been stingy so far with information as to the artists who will be playing here this year. Also bear in mind that the number of summer festivals has sky rocketed, and the lineup for most of these festivals has not been announced yet.

Artists such as U2, Coldplay, Radiohead or Bruce Springsteen are on everybody’s mind when talking about favorites, but so far have not been any signs to indicate they will set foot here pretty soon.

There is, however, one long awaited band that has been confirmed.

  • That band is Red Hot Chili Peppers. The American eccentric four-piece will perform in Bucharest on August 31 at the recently revamped National Arena. Tickets are already on sale in the Diverta store network and online at www.myticket.ro
  • Ost Fest– The prices of the tickets for each of the three festival days are: RON 500 (VIP tickets with included catering), RON 350 (Fire Circle), RON 265 (seated), RON 120 (Golden Circle) and RON 90 (lawn). The prices of the subscriptions are RON 800 (VIP ticket with included catering), RON 525 (Fire Circle), RON 400 (seated), RON 200 (Golden Circle) and RON 150 (lawn).Tickets can be bought from the Biletoo store im Unirea Shopping Center, Adevarul book stores, Flanco stores, Victoria store, Muzica store, Sala Palatului, Eminescu book store, National Children’s Palace and Unirii 1 subway station. 1. Controversial band Motley Crue will be performing in Bucharest asof the Ost Fest event that will play in Bucharest on June 15. To date, they have sold approximately 80 million albums since they came into being in 1981. They are also known for albums such as Shout at the Devil (1983), Theatre of Pain (1985) and Girls, Girls, Girls (1987) but also for their controversial lifestyle, with drug and alcohol addiction.

  1. British band Motörhead will play on June 17 (still in Ostfest) as part of the tour for the promotion of their most recent album The World Is Yours. Motorhead is an English rock band formed in 1975 by bass player and vocalist Lemmy Kilmister, who is also the only constant member of the band. Motorhead has sold over 50 million albums. The act has played Romania before.
  • B’Estfest, already a traditional festival in the Bucharest landscape, will take place between July 6 and 8 on the shore of the Pasarea lake in Tunari. Not many details have been announced yet about the festival, with the exception of the fact that a rock stage has been added so fans are expected to rock hard this year. Also, trash metal band Kreator was the first to be confirmed. Other confirmations are that of the Belgian artist Milow and English DJ Andy C.
  • Tarja Turunen, the soprano who is well-known for her former belonging to the band Nightwish, will perform solo in Bucharest on January 25 at the Palace Hall in Bucharest. The concert is part of the final tour for the promotion of the artist’s album What Lies Beneath. Turunen has played in Romania on various occasions. After her separation from Nightwish she launched three albums gaining recognition as a solo artist. Tickets for the concert are available in the Eventim network at prices between RON 75 and RON 195.
