Christmas Charity Trees at the Hilton Hotel

On December 4 the “hanging wish cards on the tree” ceremony took place. Some 40 children were present and hung the 160 red cards with the wishes on the Christmas trees. On December 19, they will be given the presents they wished for in a festive environment.
“The Christmas charity tree project was launched at the Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest 32 years ago and each year has turned out to be a real success,” says Friedrich Niemann, general manager of the Athenee Palace Hilton.The Robin Hood orphanage is a day-care institution which provides unprivileged children with a home, a meal, counseling, education and social and medical assistance. The Child Relief Association Mia's Children assists close to 70 children. Its aim is to prevent parental abandonment and help prevent kids from ending up living on the streets, where they may be pushed into drugs, crime and child prostitution.
