Four Romanian students – Teodora Ioana Tofoleanu from the Ovidius Theoretical High School in Constanta, Andrei Ungureanu from the Emil Racovita National College in Iasi, Alexandru Vlad Puscasu from the Vasile Lucaciu National College in Baia Mare and Ioana Aron from the Mihai Viteazul National College in Ploiesti – took part in the 40th edition of the event in Budapest. Actavis gave EUR 1,500 for each of the silver medals won by Tofoleanu, Aron and Puscasu and EUR 1,000 for Ungureanu's bronze. Prior to the trip, the Romanian Olympic contingent underwent a two-day practice stage in the laboratories of Actavis.
“Actavis Upholds Performance” provides students who won medals at the Olympics with a monthly allowance.
