The children who are included in the program run by the World Vision non-governmental association are gymnasium graduates who have had very good results at school but need financial aid to continue their education since they come from poor families in rural areas of the country.
Through this program, anybody can help a child attend high school in a city by making a monthly contribution of RON 100 while the difference, up to EUR 250, will be paid by World Vision Romania.
The scholarships cover meals and accommodation in the town where the high school is located, transportation, school necessities, clothing and more.
Potential donors can access the site www.worldvision.ro and choose the child they wish to sponsor. The children were included in the program following a social inquiry, depending on their results obtained during the national tests, their school results, their willingness to go to school and the difficult financial situation of their family.
