Vlad Craciunescu is a finalist in the 2019 Milestone Kickstarter competition

Milestone Systems, a global leader in video management systems (VMS) and surveillance solutions, organized Milestone Integration Day Romania – an event dedicated to the development of personalized solutions and new concepts in the field of video surveillance and security of people and goods.

Milestone Kickstarter’s first edition, a startup competition held in Las Vegas, was won by a Romanian team, the second edition has also a Romanian team among the finalists. The finalist, Vlad Craciunescu, presented his concept to the specialized audience gathered at Milestone Integration Day Romania. He has developed an automated drone system that can be used for remote monitoring of Milestone XProtect targets. The advantage of such an approach is that it allows for an adequate level of protection for locations where human intervention would be too risky or too expensive. His solution addresses all situations where “it would have been good if there had been a room there”.

Milestone Integration Day Romania was attended by business partners, community members and end-users, who had the opportunity to meet and discuss with the aim of exploring in depth the virtually limitless possibilities offered by an open platform, precisely to develop new personalized solutions. The presentations included Milestone innovations and the latest updates to integration solutions, with IBM Cloud, Advancis Solutions, SAIMOS C3 and CORE Analytics for Milestone XProtect.

From the exploration of the IoT concept in the field of health monitoring, localization projects with learning algorithms, image mapping, to digital healthcare applications that analyze behaviors to trigger different actions and alarms, competition is a real challenge for the Milestone community.

The 2019 edition of the Milestone Kickstarter 2019 was attended by developers from 10 countries, and 4 out of four finalists were left behind, with the prize of USD 65,000 awarded to the winner on April 1 in cash, resources and marketing activities through Milestone Systems. All four finalists will present their ideas at the Milestone Integration Platform Symposium 2019, to be held on March 25-28, 2019, in Copenhagen.
