The Romanian technology startup, Telerenta, which operates the only electronic equipment rental platform in Southeast Europe aimed at home users, and, since the end of last year, also companies, is expanding its product range, adding to the portfolio new categories, such as photo – video, household appliances, new models of televisions and audio equipment.

The diversification of the product portfolio is part of this year’s development strategy, which involves the rental of more than 10,000 products by the end of the year.

Moreover, this decision meets the demand from customers and aligns with the company’s mission to make technology as accessible as possible.

“The diversification of the product portfolio is a natural evolution of the platform and is in line with Telerenta’s mission to make technology accessible to as many people as possible, but in a responsible manner, focusing on sustainability and the circular economy. We estimate that by the end of May, we will have exceeded 400 products available for rent”, says Mădălin Ilie, CEO of Telerenta, noting that customer feedback has shown particular interest in home-use equipment, with coffee machines and vacuum cleaners being two examples. “Additionally, another area of interest is photo-video equipment. With the vacation season approaching, there is growing interest among Romanians in accessing professional equipment. Now, they can rent the perfect holiday gear for the entire summer: cameras, drones, action cams”.

The new products will be available for rent by both individuals and companies, as Telerenta has opened its platform to legal entities since the end of last year.

Telerenta has budgeted investments of approximately 3 million euros for 2024, which will be directed towards platform development, improving user experience, introducing new products to the portfolio, international expansion, stocking up on products, and marketing.

What Telerenta Does and How It Works

Telerenta, part of the American investment group NCH (New Century Holdings), allows individual users and companies to rent electronic equipment for periods ranging from 3 to 24 months. Customers thus have continuous access to high-quality, cutting-edge equipment that can be used according to their needs.

The rental process is flexible; users can easily choose from the products listed on the platform and replace them with others with superior specifications at any time during the contract. At the end of the rental period, they can either extend the contract or return the rented products.

Telerenta is an alternative solution to purchasing electronic equipment outright or on installments and is aimed at everyone interested in technology who does not want or cannot afford to make a purchase, as well as those interested in continuously testing and using the latest electronic equipment.

The service offered by Telerenta has national coverage, and rented products can be delivered for free anywhere in Romania.

Rental costs start at 29.99 lei per month, for a flexible 24-month contract. Users can enjoy the benefits of the product and complementary services at monthly costs comparable to those of TV streaming platform subscriptions.

RentBox Delivery

Furthermore, Telerenta offers the RentBox service to both individuals and companies, the first of its kind in the world that allows immediate rental and instant pickup of electronic equipment. Telerenta will soon have 20 RentBox machines located in shopping centers in major cities across Romania.

Currently, there are 14 vending machine units available, which can also be used as lockers for orders to be picked up from the RentBox machines, if this option was selected at the time of rental.
