Chinese telecoms equipment maker Huawei says it will continue its initiatives aimed at supporting the development of students in Romania through internships and its “Huawei Seeds for the Future” CSR initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Communication.
Kevin Liu, the CEO of Huawei Romania, said the program provides “solid support to young talented students.”
For this year’s edition of the CSR program, 10 students from Romania and the Republic of Moldova spent 2 weeks in China, visiting Beijing and Shenzhen, where Huawei’s HQ is located.
In the first week, the selected students received some Chinese language classes, while in the second week they were able to discover the technologies developed by the company.
Prior to going to China, the students were interns in the Romanian offices of the Chinese conglomerate.
The CSR program targeting students kicked off in 2014 and is set to run through to 2020.
Huawei employs 170,000 people globally.
