Within three days, Cluj will become the European capital of technology, as Techsylvania opens its doors for the 6th edition, presenting prominent speakers such as Tom Mueller from SpaceX and offering an investment of 100,000 euros to the most valuable startup. The 6th edition brings a new format, in a new location. The event will take place at the Polyvalent Hall in Cluj-Napoca from June 8 to 11 and will include the hackathon, the conference, workshops, Q&A sessions and satellite events.

Participants will have the opportunity to see presentations by exceptional guests who will be in Romania for the first time. From the famous SpaceX company, co-founder Tom Mueller will share with Techsylvania the eternal dream of mankind to send equipment and people to space. Conference organizers also invited Francois Chopard, the founder of Starburst – the first accelerator for aerospace startups.

As for figures, Techsylvania also beats records in its 6th edition. A total of 60 speakers will deliver quality content in no less than 100 presentations. The 3,000 participants this year include the corporate environment as well as all areas of entrepreneurship or key investors and CEOs from key companies. Startups will have 20 dedicated exhibition venues, including Techcrunch Disrupt and CES.

Experienced speakers from value-added companies

Among those who will hold presentations or advise startingups in Startup Avalanche are investors of venture capital funds that exceed the budget of the city of Cluj-Napoca by 500 times and even 15 times Romania’s investment budget for 2019.

Leaders of investments in the main European and global financial markets will take part in the event, focusing on the ecosystem created in Cluj-Napoca and potential investment opportunities across the country.

Fang Yuan, the vice president of Baidu Ventures, Sakshi Chhabra Mittal, Investment Director at Softbank Vision Fund, and Abdullah Al-Shaksy, co-founder and CEO of Phaze Ventures, will join more than 20 investors who will participate in Techsylvania 2019.

Renowned consultants will also bring to Techsylvania this year the image of professionals behind the success of innovative companies. On behalf of TechCrunch, John Biggs, author of the most famous blogging book, and Don Lothrop – founder of PressOne, will be global media institutions, raising Techsylvania’s stance.

Participants can participate free of charge in over 30 satellite events that will be held outside the headquarters of the Polivalenta Hall – BT Arena. Whether we are talking about virtual reality applied in the medical field or innovative design concepts, all satellite events will bring a special flavor to the atmosphere proposed by Techsylvania makers.

“At the sixth edition of the conference we’ve invited not only global company leaders but also representatives of Romanian companies we pride ourselves on. Whether we are talking about banking or healthcare companies, the presence of success stories in the local ecosystem is an obvious signal that Romania is an unprecedented opportunity for investment. Participants this year will find in Techsylvania an ever-growing event that draws attention to the proposed novelty themes and valuable speakers present,” said Camelia Trusmei, Head of Operations Techsylvania.

Startup Avalanche

Startup Avalanche, the international startup competition organized in partnership with Risky Business, is also on this year’s agenda at Techsylvania. Three years after the best project won a nine-day trip to Silicon Valley, where they had the chance to interact with top investors, potential customers and partners, in 2019 the startups will receive a new award: an investment of 100,000 euros.

This year, Startup Avalanche is an event supported by the Roca platform, marking the launch of Roca X, an additional financing product to meet the diverse generations of entrepreneurs present in Romania.

Tickets can be purchased from www.techsylvania.com. In the last week before the event you can benefit from last minute prices – EUR 139 for Builder Ticket and EUR 259 for Premium Access.

Also at this edition will be the organizers who support Techsylvania, companies that make their contribution to the growth of the IT and Tech community in Romania and internationally.

George, the first intelligent banking system launched in Romania, is the main partner of Techsylvania. Offering online banking services instantly available and intelligent support in all operations, George is a true financial assistant. Beyond a classification and automatic cost analysis, George has simple and intuitive tools to provide a great deal of experience in using banking services.

Another leading partner of Techsylvania is Medicover, the only privately-held medical care and diagnosis company with international experience in Romania. The 20-year experience in the private health services market, alongside a network of 37 clinics in Bucharest and across the country, over 200 partner clinics and two hospitals are the guarantee of exceptional medical benefits.

Techsylvania is the largest technology growth platform in Romania and one of the most significant technology events in Eastern Europe. Specialists from around the world are discussing revolutionary ideas in a space that facilitates valuable interactions between large companies in Romania, entrepreneurs, startups and investment funds. The event was created in 2014 by Oana Petrus and Vlad Ciurca. The number of participants in the event increases annually, with the last edition attracting 2,200 people from 27 countries.
