Samsung went strong at CES 2024, with many new products and a vision for the future of the digital life. From televisions and household appliances to phones and tablets, but also the vision of Artificial Intelligence – all were presented by the Korean giant at the start of the year fair in Las Vegas. Samsung is also preparing, separately from CES 2024, the launch of the new Galaxy S24 flagship range, which will take place next week.

Among the first announced at CES 2024 by Samsung Electronics was the new 2024 range of QLED, MICRO LED, OLED and Lifestyle TVs. The announcement marks the beginning of the era of AI displays by introducing a next-generation AI processor poised to redefine user perception of smart display capabilities. In addition to improving picture and sound quality, the new series offer consumers advanced artificial intelligence features protected by Samsung Knox, helping to stimulate and strengthen the diversity of individual lifestyles.

Samsung’s latest Neo QLED 8K and 4K TVs offer the complete package that includes lifelike picture quality, premium audio technology and a rich range of applications and services. At the heart of the 2024 Neo QLED 8K TV is Samsung’s latest and most innovative TV processor: the NQ8 AI Gen3, which features a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) twice as fast as its predecessor.

With the new transparent MICRO LED, Samsung proves that there are limitless possibilities for the screens of the future. The screen, similar to a sheet of transparent glass, features an extremely small MICRO LED chip and a precise manufacturing process that eliminates welds and light refraction. This allows the transparent MICRO LED to create a clear, unobstructed image suitable for various uses in both home and business (B2B) environments.

Samsung’s 2024 OLED TVs continue the tradition of last year’s models, and the S95D model offers a 77-inch surface for high-resolution images, high frame rates and intensely vibrant colors. The screen is 20% brighter than previous models and offers deep, vivid blacks, and the color accuracy, enhanced by artificial intelligence, is so faithful that it is validated by Pantone. Samsung also introduced the S90D and S85D in various sizes from 42″ to 83″.

Galaxy XCover7 and Tab Active5

Samsung Electronics also launched the new Galaxy XCover7 and Galaxy Tab Active5, a smartphone and tablet dedicated to the business environment, designed to face intense challenges, including for field work, where versatility, optimization and security are essential .

Both devices will provide improved mobility thanks to the 5G connectivity they have, better performance thanks to the improvements made to the processor, but also more memory. In addition, the XCover7 comes with a powerful new camera on the back and a screen expanded in size and resolution, while the Tab Active5 includes both replaceable batteries and Battery-Free Mode, giving users the ability to work in various settings.

According to an assessment report by IDC Marketscape Worldwide Rugged Mobile Devices 2023, in 2022 more than one-third (38%) of US companies have deployed rugged mobile devices, and another 38% of these companies said they plan to purchase more of such devices by 2023. Being reliable, performing and durable, rugged mobile devices can meet the needs of a wide range of enterprise industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, retail and government. Thus, the growth of the rugged device market shows no signs of slowing down.

“At Samsung, we understand that today’s businesses face unprecedented challenges and opportunities, and they need products that can keep up with their dynamic needs. That’s why we created the Galaxy XCover7 and Galaxy Tab Active5, rugged devices built specifically for frontline workers. They are not only powerful and versatile, but also durable and secure, making them the perfect partner for employees who need to stay connected, productive and secure in any situation,” said Jerry Park, executive vice president and head of the global mobile business team B2B, MX Business at Samsung Electronics.

AI for All

Samsung Electronics has shared its vision of how artificial intelligence (AI) technology will enable people to manage their devices more intuitively and conveniently than ever before. Presenting these ideas at a press conference at CES® 2024, Samsung teamed up with key partners to highlight the technology behind this vision and how new products and services use AI skills to make our lives easier.

Jong-Hee (JH) Han, Vice Chairman, CEO and Head of Samsung’s Device eXperience (DX) Division, opened the press conference by presenting how artificial intelligence will enable connected technologies to improve people’s daily lives, remaining “in the background”, non-invasive in people’s lives. The strategy he and others (other members) outlined focused on the role of AI in improving connected experiences that are both simple and useful. During the press conference, Samsung presented a number of products and services that help achieve these goals.

“With the advent of artificial intelligence, better and smarter experiences will redefine the way we live,” said Han. “Samsung’s broad portfolio of impactful devices, along with its pursuit of open collaboration, will help bring AI and hyperconnectivity to everyone’s attention.”

Visual Display Products and AI-Enabled Digital Devices Bring New Experiences to the Home

During the CES press conference, Jonathan Gabrio, Head of Connected Experience Center at Samsung Electronics America, highlighted how AI technology is transforming the way Visual Display products and Digital Appliances are used. For example, the Samsung Neo QLED 8K QN900D has a built-in AI processor, the NQ8 AI Gen 3, equipped with 8 times more AI neural networks and an NPU twice as fast as its predecessor. Thanks to the NQ8 AI Gen3 processor, Samsung Neo QLED 8K automatically enhances low-resolution content to provide users with an up to 8K viewing experience, as well as the clarity of fast-moving images through AI Motion Enhancer Pro. Samsung Neo QLED 8K also features Active Voice Amplifier Pro, which analyzes voice and background noise through AI to optimize the listening experience, so users can enjoy varied content as if they were in the front row a stadium or a cinema. Samsung Neo QLED 8K also benefits from Tizen OS Home, which offers the latest apps, services, personalized content and service recommendations for a better experience.

For viewers with different needs, Samsung also offers innovative accessibility features. Samsung Neo QLED’s sign language function can be easily controlled by gestures, being dedicated to the hearing impaired, and the audio subtitle function turns text subtitles into spoken words in real time, addressing the visually impaired.

In addition, Samsung introduces the new Premiere 8K, a projector that not only has a screen of up to 150 inches, but also the world’s first 8K wireless transmission on a projector. With Premiere 8K, users will be able to enjoy a large-scale cinema-like viewing experience in the comfort of their own home.

Regarding sound, Samsung also introduced the Music Frame, a speaker with a customizable cover that seamlessly integrates into users’ homes. Through the Q-Symphony feature, Music Frame syncs with Samsung TVs and soundbars, delivering the powerful bass and surround sound of dual built-in woofers in the comfort of your own home with minimal effort.

Samsung has also made major updates to Ballie, the smart robot first shown at CES 2020. Ballie has now evolved into an AI partner capable of interacting with other smart devices to provide personalized services, such as performing more complex tasks or projecting images and videos onto a wall so that users can view key information for their daily lives, such as the weather or other relevant content, wherever they are.

To enhance culinary experiences in the kitchen, Samsung unveils the Bespoke 4-Door Flex™ refrigerator with AI Family Hub™+. This fridge has a 32-inch screen that features the new AI Vision Inside, a feature that uses an internal camera to recognize up to 33 different foods that are put in and out of the fridge and also suggests recipes that include those ingredients. Users can also set food ‘use by’ dates on the Bespoke 4-Door Flex™ refrigerator screen with AI Family Hub™, which then allows the fridge to send a notification when the set date approaches. Conveniently helping to save money by reducing food waste, these AI features enable environmentally responsible lifestyles. The Anyplace Induction range takes AI connectivity one step further, as recipes saved on Samsung Food can be shared on the hob’s 7-inch screen so users can easily follow them while cooking.

The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo™ robot vacuum uses AI technology to provide a more convenient and efficient cleaning experience. With the intelligent object recognition function, upgraded from the previous series, it will be able to distinguish more objects, as well as detect spots and spaces. The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo™ also recognizes the type of floor it encounters – along with the length of the carpet – and adjusts its settings accordingly.
