SoftServe, one of the main IT companies in Europe, present on the local market since May 2022, inaugurated the first headquarters in the country, in Bucharest, and will end 2023 with an increase of over 200% in the number of employees in Romania. SoftServe Romania office is located in the Charles de Gaulle Plaza building in the center-north area and has a usable area of over 540 square meters.

Before opening the office in Charles de Gaulle Plaza, SoftServe offered employees in Bucharest the opportunity to work from a co-working space in the center of the Capital.

“SoftServe continues to have a flexible work policy, offering all employees the opportunity to freely choose where they work. This office helps us increase this level of flexibility and meet colleagues who prefer to work from the office or who need a space for various team meetings,” said Dan Paraschiv, Country Manager, SoftServe Romania.

In addition to the recently inaugurated office in Bucharest, SoftServe Romania has decided to make workspaces available to employees in Cluj in a co-working hub in the city, through the Pluria solution, which provides access to a national network of flexible spaces.

“Bucharest and Cluj are currently the cities with the most employees, but the remote work model allows us to have teams anywhere in Romania. Among the cities where we are now present with small teams are Brașov, Iași and Timisoara. We started in Romania as a 100% remote employer and it is a model with which we continue to operate and for which we are recognized,” added Dan Paraschiv.

SoftServe inaugurated operations in Romania in May 2022 as part of its global expansion strategy. “When we entered Romania – in May 2022 – there were 2 employees, me and a recruiter. This year, we will end with almost 150 colleagues, 3 times more than at the beginning of 2023, and we continue to grow. We aim to reach 250 people by the end of next year,” pointed out Dan Paraschiv, SoftServe Romania Country Manager.

In addition to the flexible working policy, SoftServe offers employees a suite of other benefits, with a focus on wellbeing and education. Thus, the company offers a flexible benefits package, with employees composing their own fringe benefits package within the limits of a monthly budget. Also, all employees receive 25 days of vacation, but also other free days in addition for various personal or family events.

At the same time, SoftServe has a real educational ecosystem. Under the name SoftServe University, the company offers employees more than 1,000 courses developed in-house, in addition to 10,000 more that they can access for free on Udemy Business. In addition, the company bears the cost of employee certification for a number of technologies, thus contributing to the accelerated professional development of specialists in the company.

SoftServe also has a developed social engagement component. The company has its own charitable foundation – Open Eyes – and its own crowdsourcing platform – Open Tech, through which it engages in various social programs in all the countries where it is present. Through Open Eyes, the company donated $1.2 million this year to purchase 100 ambulances for Ukraine through the Drive for Life program. This donation is in addition to the other 123 medical vehicles donated by the foundation in 2022 to help rescuers on the front lines in Ukraine.

In the first year in Romania, the company and SoftServe volunteers supported several planting actions in Bucharest, Cluj, Iași and Brașov, collaborating with the organization Creștem România Împreună, a partnership that will continue in 2024. The company also launched the EmpowerU program, which supports the inclusion of vulnerable groups, free IT courses for people displaced as a result of the war in Ukraine, in partnership with the Romanian National Council for Refugees (CNRR).
