Romanians spend EUR 250 on tablets and EUR 400 on laptops or smartphones

Sales of portable devices will come to represent more and more in the total sales of IT&C retailers. IT&C retailer Flanco forecasts impressive growth in its network for mobile devices, expecting notebook sales to go up by 20 percent, tablets to sell three times more while smartphone sales to hike ten times this year.

Romanians spend on average EUR 400 on a laptop, EUR 250 on a tablet and EUR 400 on a smartphones, according to estimations made by the retailer.

“Clients who invest in such products are young people- 60 percent of them are aged before 35 years old, dynamic- they need higher portability, passionate with technology and avid for information in real time,” said Violeta Luca, Marketing Director of Flanco.

Last year, notebooks represented 17 percent of Flanco’s total sales. For this year, the retailer estimates a 20 percent growth for this category of products.

Also, Flanco representatives estimate they will sell three times more tablets this year so that its market share on the emerging tablet market will reach 18 percent. Last year, sales of tablets represented 1 percent in total sales of Flanco, and 5 percent in total PC sales.
