Metro Cash & Carry Romania and Metro Systems Romania partner up with Digi | RCS & RDS for digital transformation

The most important company at the national level in the field of wholesale trade, Metro Cash & Carry Romania, and Metro Systems Romania, the internal provider of Metro Group for IT solutions, has been benefiting from the convergent electronic communications services offered by Digi | RCS & RDS since September.

The partnership for digital connectivity and transformation covers customized solutions for data communication services, fixed telephony services and mobile and data services.

Metro Cash & Carry Romania, Metro Systems Romania and Digi | RCS & RDS started in September a collaboration in the field of mobile and fixed electronic communications, which covers an extensive range of personalized services.

The project, managed by the Digi Business team, comprises the provision of fixed data communication services (MPLS VPN), fixed telephony services, audio conference services, mobile telephony and mobile data services, for a fleet of approximately 2,000 users within the two companies.

Digi | RCS & RDS proposed to the two partners last minute solutions in the field of data communications, to support their technical needs, both for the network of stores and warehouses, as well as for the two main offices in Bucharest. The services are provided through a fixed fiber optic infrastructure, implemented by the operator in most of the partner locations. For a small part of the network, microwave radio solutions were used.

In its partners’ headquarters, Digi | RCS & RDS has adopted solutions that ensure optimum redundancy for fixed data and telephony services. These locations have also had high performance routers installed, which offer users of the two companies redundancy at the level of the Digi | RCS & RDS network. The technology adopted now allows speeds of up to 10 Gbps in the headquarters, and the indoor coverage for mobile services has been significantly improved. Another component of the project was to install equipment and solutions for optimizing fixed data and voice services.
