Bucharest Tech Week 2023 brought together over 30,000 visitors, 100 companies and 70 renowned speakers

Bucharest Tech Week, the largest technology and innovation festival in Central and Eastern Europe, brought together in this year’s edition 100 companies, which presented state-of-the-art products and services, i.e. over 1500 professionals from various fields and 70 of renowned speakers, who brought to the public trends and perspectives from the tech area. More than 30,000 visitors, passionate about technology, digitization and innovation, enjoyed the week dedicated to technology – May 22-28.

 

The concept of Bucharest Tech Week is structured in two directions: Business Summits – a series of niche business tech conferences, which took place this year at NORD Events Center by Globalworth, respectively Tech Expo – the largest exhibition of technology and innovation, dedicated to the general public, hosted by Romexpo, Pavilion B1.

In the days dedicated to business summits, a multitude of topics from the tech area and beyond were addressed, and international experts and professionals in various business fields provided the participants with knowledge and practical examples. Among them we mention: Dr. Frank Möbius, Head of Technology Management and Forecast BMW Group, Kelsa Albert, Global People Development Manager at Farfetch Group, Abdelfettah Sghiouar, Senior Cloud Developer Advocate at Google Cloud, Hamish Stacy, Digital Experience Lead at Mondelez International and Jean-Philippe Bempel, Java Champion and Senior Software Engineer at Datadog.

At the same time, representatives of some top companies, such as: Orange Business, Bosch, Google, Undelucram.ro, Mastercard, George by BCR, Luxoft, Sodexo Benefits and Rewards Services Romania, Up Romania and Vodafone Intelligent Solutions (_VOIS)) also debated presented to more than 1400 participants the latest in: technological innovation, HR, retail, the Java programming language and software architecture.

More than 28,000 visitors enjoyed the novelties presented at Tech Expo 2023

Tech Expo, the largest exhibition of technology and innovation in Central and Eastern Europe, enjoyed the presence of 28,538 visitors, who had the opportunity to see and test the latest generation tech products and solutions, from gadgets, robots, electric vehicles, smart home products, up to smartphones, laptops or gaming solutions.

Among the biggest companies present at the Tech Expo were: Bosch, who presented some of the most advanced technologies in the field of engines, E.ON and the innovative project of Dominic Marcu, who talked about the transformation of his famous Tesla Model 3 Performance from Europe in a racing car, HONOR and OPPO, with the new high-end phones or Pudu, which brought to the participants autonomous and intelligent robots used in various fields, such as delivery services and restaurant assistance.

Other attractive products for visitors were glasses for the blind from OrCam, smart home solutions from Legrand, Tineco and TechCuisine.ro. On the other hand, gaming enthusiasts had the opportunity to enjoy a whole dedicated area, namely gaming competitions organized by Lenovo or FC Rapid Esports.

Moreover, discussion panels, presentations and demonstrations of innovative companies were held during the three days of the exhibition. For example, the BrainMap Neuroscience Institute presented a state-of-the-art medical device that allows people to see what is happening in their brain and how they can “reprogram” it by changing already formed thought and behavior patterns. Another successful example was the “Manna Food Solution” session, where a novel product, a pill that replaces a full meal, was presented and the involvement of technology in the future of the food industry was discussed.

Representatives of the authorities also participated in the official opening ceremony, such as Sebastian Ioan Burduja – Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitization, Sabin Sărmaș – President of the Committee for Information and Communications Technology in the Chamber of Deputies and Andrei Niculae – Vice-President of the Authority for Digitization of Romania.
