The local official said he had talks with other two companies interested to make similar investments in Cluj to provide spare parts for the Nokia handsets. Negotiations of the city council with other four firms from Hungary, Finland and Germany are scheduled to take place in September.
Nokia received last week the building authorization for its plant in Romania. Company representatives expect the production activity in Cluj to start in the first half of 2008. The investment of the Finnish company reaches EUR 60 million and should generate further investments from its suppliers and providers totaling EUR 300 million and 11,000 new working places.
